Why shouldn't I listen to my doctor?
Why would something not deemed as safe be allowed?
People are ill. Everywhere you look. I bet you can name 3 people you know/knew who have health issues - it might include yourself! I find it hard to think of someone who hasn't got some sort of health issue...and those are the ones I actually know of!
Something isn't right here, there is a reason (or many reasons) most people aren't functioning optimally - your body is designed to heal, it's constantly working toward health. Health is your bodies natural state, so what is preventing it from getting there?

I think there are a number of things we live with today that cause our bodies harm, but the one I want to talk about today is mercury.
What do we know about mercury?
My mum told me that when she was in school, they handed out thermometers (the old-style ones, which were filled with mercury) and they were treated with the utmost caution if they were to break, no one was to go near it and there was a special clean-up regimen carried out. That's because mercury is one of the most toxic substance known to man.
This is what the World Health Organisation has to say about it, including the side effects of mercury:
- Mercury is a naturally occurring element that is found in air, water and soil.
- Exposure to mercury – even small amounts – may cause serious health problems, and is a threat to the development of the child in utero and early in life.

- Mercury may have toxic effects on the nervous, digestive and immune systems, and on lungs, kidneys, skin and eyes.
- Mercury is considered by WHO as one of the top ten chemicals or groups of chemicals of major public health concern.
It's a little crazy that it was allowed in thermometers, right? Well, yes, but what is even crazier and the reason I'm talking about mercury is that mercury might be present in your mouth...like...right now.
These amalgam fillings you get at the dentist are made from mercury. If you're not sure if you have these or not, look in your mouth and assess what colour your fillings are - if they're metallic/black/grey colour - it's mercury. Now, some might argue that this type of mercury isn't the most toxic kind - but so what?!Some might even argue that it isn't harmful, but they're clearly not using the slightest bit of common sense. Of course it's harmful. If they want poison in their mouth, let them have it, but you do not need to suffer the same fate!
When there are non-toxic, white options (which will blend seamlessly with the colour of your teeth, called 'composite fillings'), why risk basing your trust on dentists who are ignoring the fact they're poisoning you because they are too stuck in their ways from when they were taught to use mercury from their teachers who didn't know any better at the time?
It leads you to ask how on Earth the use of mercury fillings were allowed in the first place.
History of amalgam fillings
For over a century, mercury fillings have been used basically because it bonds materials together at a low cost (it usually leads back to money)!Originally, there were bans on using amalgam fillings, but once again, the FDA swoop in and deem them as safe to use and said that the evidence against them was not sufficient. This is the number one excuse used to try to discredit ideas worth thinking about - but in this case it is particularly surprising because there is a lot of evidence to show that one the worlds most poisonous substances does in fact... poison you! When I first found out the truth about this "subtle" poisoning technique, I thankfully didn't have any amalgam fillings, but I knew that both my parents did. When they went through the process of removing the fillings, both were tested for mercury toxicity in their bodies. Both had mercury toxicity, but my dad in particular had levels so high (most of his teeth were drilled and filled as a precaution!!) that if those levels were measured in a building, the building would have to be evacuated!
This is why a detox process must begin when amalgam fillings are removed. Thankfully both my parents are now fine and noticed some health improvements after the ordeal, including aching joints suddenly going back to normal.
What now?
If you do have amalgam fillings, you can get your fillings removed and replaced with another material, however, you have to go about this process carefully. Only certain dentists take out the fillings in a fashion that keeps you safe, since removing them might expose your body to more of the mercury vapours.
There is information here on removing mercury fillings:

After you get them removed, your body will go into a state of detox, as it is always trying to heal you. You may notice symptoms of this, you may not. The good news is, is that your body is healing, you may notice symptoms you have been suffering from disappear because you have tackled the root of the problem!
As always, I suggest you go and research this topic further, because it is your decision and your life! Take ownership of your health - it's freeing! It didn't take much convincing on my end that putting a dangerous substance in your mouth would be dangerous - but tell that to the dentists that continue to use the fillings and the websites set up to try to dissuade you from keeping yourself alive.
